We arrive late afternnon so just walked round the hotel and had a buffet meal.

Wednesday 23rd March 2011

We went snorkelling off the beach then came back and decided to take a kayak out to the reef,
we had one each and got out there and had a lovely swim and saw lots of fish and beautiful coral.
The hard part was getting back into the kayaks to return to shore!

Nigel tried and capsied his luckily all the stuff was in the other kayak!

After several attempts a boat appeared from the hiring company and they had seen we were in trouble,
so Nigel managed to get in with their help then it was my turn the man said try and do it quickly as its easier!
so I did and went straight in and out again the other side! Caught myself between the boat and the kayak,
just a bruised elbow, they did offer to tow us in but we decided to row in ourselves didnt want the humiliation!

Got back fine then went for a swim in the pool.

It wasnt till we went back to the condo we realised we had been out in the sun too long!
Nigel had a sunburnt head and I had sunburnt backs of my legs very painful!
In the evening we went to Coco Beach resort, just along the beach,
for a buffet meal with a couple we had met on the catamaran trip.

A lovely meal and enjoyable evening apart from the pain from the sunburn!

Tuesday 22nd March 2011

We met on the jetty at 8.45 for a wonderful day out on a catamaran. We driffted out to the reef,
there were only us 2 and the 2 crew! Then another boat joined us and we went snoreling saw lots of colourful fish
and some huge rays. Then it was off to a deserrted beach for a BBQ just 8 of us and the 3 crew members.

We had BBQ of fish, which the others had caught with vegtables and tortias it was very nice.
Then 4 of us went in the small boat to go fishing, Nigel caught a fish, a mutton snapper.
I didnt try, we then met back up with the catamaran for a gentle ride back home, a memorable day.

Saturday 19th March 2011

We walked up to Lincoln Road a shopping street and found a nice breakfast.
From here we walked up to the Miami Botanical Gardens. Not very large so didnt take that long to walk around,
took longer to walk there! Stopped and looked round Maceys n the way back too cool off!
Then we decided to hire a couple of bikes and cycled down to the channel where all the cruise liners go in and out.
We saw about 5 ships leave in the space of about half an hour!

Bikes are called sand cruisers, no breaks or gears!! you pedal backwards to break took a while to get the hang of it!
but as the cycle way was flat all the way it was easier than at home!
In the evening we walked along Ocean Drive to see all the Art Deco buildings which are all lit up with neon lights.
Impressive and very busy, lots of people just walking along and taking pictures.
